Where does my text go? Is it private?

It stays on your Mac. Scrubbr detects and redacts sensitive information entirely on your device — your documents and text are never uploaded to us. See our Security & Privacy page.

Do I need an account?

No. There’s no sign-up. You download the app and use it — we don’t collect your name or email to run Scrubbr.

What’s included in Pro?

Pro unlocks higher-accuracy, longer-document detection models, multiple environments, batch export of many documents at once, and custom placeholder labels. The free version includes on-device detection with the built-in model and single-document scrubbing.

How do I activate Pro, or restore it on another Mac?

After you subscribe, Scrubbr activates automatically, and you’re shown a license key to keep. On a new Mac, open Settings → Subscription and paste your license key to restore Pro. No account required.

How do I cancel or get a refund?

You can cancel anytime; access continues until the end of your billing period. We also offer a 14-day money-back guarantee — see the Refund Policy.

Is the detection guaranteed to catch everything?

No automated tool is perfect — Scrubbr may miss some items or flag harmless ones. Always review the scrubbed output before sharing it. Scrubbr is a powerful aid, not a substitute for a final check.

What are the system requirements?

A Mac running macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later, on Apple Silicon or Intel.

How do I get updates?

Scrubbr checks for updates and notifies you in-app; you download the new version from scrubbr.app. Your data and settings stay put.
